"The Snake" finished off a stellar career at Arizona State with a devastating loss in the Rose Bowl. Yet, in no way does this diminish what Jake Plummer did for ASU. He became Arizona State's career passing leader with 8,626 yards, passing Danny White (6,717). In 1996 was the finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, Walter Camp Award, Unitas Award, and Heismain Trophy. Plummer was the inspiration that helped ASU to an 11-1 season in 1996 and saw them upset Nebraska. Scouts love his leadership ability and will to win. He is an excellent passer while out of the pocket and on the run. Some have compared him to a young Joe Montana. While this is completely unfair to Plummer, it is a great compliment.
