Strengths:
  • Outstanding feet and quickness.
  • Great strength.

    Questions:

  • With only one year of 1-A college experience, how will he adjust to the NFL?

    Projected Draft Round:

  • 1st
  • Walter Jones, Florida State, OT
    6-5, 300 lbs
Any other year, without Pace in the draft, Jones would be the top offensive line prospect. He dominated at Florida State last year. He has great feet and quickness, allowing him to always be in perfect position to block. Jones was a JUCO transfer two years ago and sat out the 1995 season at Florida State. As a result, he has only played one full season of 1-A college ball. This lack of experience may hurt him in his early years as a pro, especially when he faces some of the more dominating defensive lineman in the league. However, scouts are not concerned with this and many expect Jones to have a Pro Bowl future as a left tackle.
