Manning has all the skills that scouts look for in a quarterback, intelligence, size, arm strength, and a quick release. He had an excellent career in his three years at Tennesse and last year become the first QB in Tennesse history to throw for over 3000 yards. If Manning has a weakness it is his lack of mobility in the pocket, but he compensates for this with his feel for the pass rush and his incredible quick release. Peyton, the son of former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning, should be one of the top two selections in the draft, possibly going to the Saints who have the number two selection. Manning has not yet declared for the draft, but as a graduating junior has until two weeks prior to the draft to declare. He also could opt to enter the supplemental draft. Update: Manning will not enter the 1997 draft.
