What does every NFL head coach, scout, or GM want? They covet a pass rushing specialist who can disrupt the flow of their opponents offense. So as with every other draft, sack artist move to the top of the list in draft war rooms around the league. Peter Boulware from Florida State is a talented defensive end who uses his speed to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Boulware should be a top five pick. Trevor Pryce, Clemson, uses his over powering size and strength to dominate the line of scrimmage. This former linebacker is equally successful at stopping the run and pursuing the QB. Reinard Wilson, Florida State, has all the skills to become a successful pro defensive end. His great combination of speed, strength, and athletic ability is impressive. Other defensive ends who could be drafted include; Marcus Wiley, Columbia, Canute Curtis, West Virginia, Cornell Brown, Virginia Tech, Greg Jones, Colorado, Mike Vrabel, Ohio State, Renaldo Wynn, Notre Dame, Dwaine Robinson, Virginia Union.

Darrell Russell, USC, is by far the top defensive tackle in the draft. At 20, he already has the physical skills to dominate at the next level. There have been some questions about Russell’s drive and determination, but that doesn’t seem to scare off any scouts from giving him rave reviews. Many believe that the Jets will use their number one overall pick to select Russell. Other defensive tackles to watch on draft day include; Nathan Davis, Indiana, Antonio Anderson, Syracuse, Edward Jasper, Texas A&M, William Carr, Michigan, Myron Elzy, Central State, Brandon Noble, Penn State, Rick Terry, North Carolina, Rashod Swinger, Rutgers.
