The trade reunited Harbaugh with Ted Marchibroda, a combination that was just one play away from the super bowl. Also they are said to be considering an offer from Carolina for Kerry Collins.Jacksonville has traded backup QB Rob Johnson to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for the Bills first and fourth round draft picks. Jacksonville intends to use Buffalo's first-round pick (9th overall) and their own (25th overall) to move up in the draft and select Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson from Michigan. The Carolina Panthers have admitted they are interested in moving up in the draft to select Tennessee quarterback Payton Manning. Team officials met with him last weekend and team president Mark Richardson has told the Colts they are interested in trading for the Colts number one pick. The trade could involve quarterback Kerry Collins, other players, and the Panthers first round pick. Possible number one draft pick, quarterback Ryan Leaf missed a meeting with the Indianapolis Colts over the weekend to have tests done on his shoulder. Leaf spent three hours having an MRI on his right shoulder, a test requested by the Chicago Bears. When Leaf told combine officials he was supposed to meet with the Colts, he was told "physicals take precedence over meetings." The Colts were upset that Leaf did not show and that he gave no explanation for his absence until Monday. |
